Recent Weddings

Welcome to my Weddings Blog. Below is a taster of the weddings that I have covered, and will hopefully give you a flavour of my style of photography, and what the bridal couple experienced by employing me as their photographer.

Lisa & Rachel 14-07-2012 - The Oaklands, Norwich

Starting at 12.30pm for a 1pm Ceremony start, The Oaklands was the venue for Lisa and Rachels Ceremony and Reception. After planning for rain, the weather decided to stay hot, and we had a great group photos session, followed by a more intimate photo session with Lisa and Rachel after the wedding breakfast, which was very nice I might add!!

Highlights of the day (and most memorable moment) was the young children shouting at Lisa and Rachel from the balconies of the lodges to stop kissing during our photo session.

Thanks to Lisa and Rachel for choosing me as the photographer for their wedding.

Tai & Glen 09-04-2011 - St Edmunds Church

Starting at 8.30am at the Mother of the Brides home, preparations were captured in the morning, along with breakfast of bacon rolls supplied by the Brides Stepdad, and then it was a 12.30pm departure for St Edmunds in Taverham.

After shots of the guests' arrival, and the main ceremony itself, Tai and Glen had a 15 min private photography session at one end of the church grounds, before a 20 min 'Formal' group shot session.

It was then onto the Oaklands Hotel, Norwich, which featured a handy shortcut thanks to the Groom, who works as a taxi driver.

Highlights of the reception being overhead shots taken from the roof (which involved climbing out of a VERY thin window!) and a great speech from the Best Woman.

Thanks to you both for allowing me to be part of your special day, and I hope that I have managed to encapulate your special day into a set of everlasting memories.

Interview with the Bride and Groom:

Transportation: Chrysler 300 from Enterprise Taxis, Norwich. Really good price. On time and very clean

Caterer: The Oaklands Hotel, Norwich

Wedding Dress: The Wedding Dress Shop, Bungay. Very good service to start off with but as soon as I paid for the dress, service slipped. Dress was 7 weeks late to being in the shop. The dress itself was fabulous and everything i dreamed of. Was a Romantica dress, very detailed all over strapless dress. Didn't want to take it off.

Shoes: White Stilettos from Faith Shoes. Silver heel with Diamonds all down the back. I also made some trainers for the evening. Brought a pair of plain white paid of pumps from primark and decorated them myself and orange ribbon (Orange was our colour scheme), pearls and sparkly bits.

Wedding Planner: I done it all myself, much more rewarding on the day when you look back and think I done this!

Reception Entertainment: Barrie Thornton (Oaklands Resident DJ), he was fabulous and made the evening reception really good fun.

Honeymoon: Cuba

First Dance Song: Phil Collins - Groovy kind of Love. symbolises how Glen & I feel about each other.

Can you tell us where and how Glen proposed? We are both fans of Dancing on Ice, he took to see a live show and popped the question there, needles to say we now return to the shows as often as we can when they take place. Very personal place for us.

The most memorable moment of the day:

Tai: After we said "I will" and our vows at the alter, the vicar lead us towards the back of the church to have a blessing and sign the register. After the blessing, our best girl brought our Mum's up (Witnesses) while we were waiting, Glen turned to the Vicar and said "Doesn't she look Amazing", this made my heart melt and go weak at the knees. This was the beginning of our happy life together and i was very excited.

Glen: Seeing my "Wife to be" walking down the Aisle about to make me the happiest man in the world.

What advice would you give to brides reading this who are planning their wedding? In my view, Weddings can get money orientated, but at the end of the day it is not about how much things cost it is whether you love it as much as you are supposed to. Take your time when planning a wedding and shop around for everything. Get quotes and prices then go off to the next place and get the same. Eventually your hard work will pay off and you will be rewarded with having the things you want as a decent price that does not break the bank. My only other advice is follow your heart and not other peoples. Your wedding is your chance and yours only. Listen to others input but if you know it is not what you want, stand your ground! It will be worth it in the end. Good Luck.

Also, if you want a great photographer, use Aaron Murrell Photography! He was the greatest and very hardworking, we could not fault his work.
